How the beta process works:
Every author does the beta process a little bit differently. Here's how I do it!
Ready Your Kindle:
Choose the device you prefer (kindle cloud reader, physical kindle, kindle app for mobile...), and I'll send over a copy of the draft. To send the manuscript to your Kindle will require your Kindle-device address, and permissions to send direct. See the instruction images on this page for how to access that info. (Click the image to view full-screen!)
Read Away:
Then comes the fun part! Read through the document provided; you'll come across a few check-in questions after important scenes.
Respond:
Please write your answers to these check-ins right away! You don't have to send them right away, but please do write down your thoughts and answers right when you reach the check-in! This way, your perspective is still fresh :]
You can save them in a word doc and email all check-ins to relkenwrites@gmail.com when you finish your beta, or email them in one by one as you read through the novel. Whatever works for you!
Either way, it's recommended that you answer them right away when you come across the questions, so everything is still fresh in your mind and not yet ruined with spoilers!
